About OM1-06: The Erotic Self

Welcome to The Erotic Self. This course invites you to explore the philosophy behind OM and the essence of Eros. Its focus is on connecting with our true selves, the self that exists underneath all the artifice, survival mechanisms, protections, and performances. When we connect to our Erotic Self, we can begin to experience real intimacy and authenticity, what we actually feel, what we actually want, and how we actually want to live.

In Module 1, you will explore the nature of Eros and how to listen to what your body wants and needs, and to follow its wisdom. In Module 2, you will learn how to remove any performance or other behaviors that keep you from experiencing real intimacy. Next, ‘OM and The Laws of Eros’ take you into the ‘Four Laws of Eros,’ ‘Breaking Our Own Rules,’ ‘Playing with Power,’ ‘Ambivalence,’ and ‘Anticipation’—where you will learn to express who you are and what you want more fully. Finally, in Module 4, ‘Sexual Energy for Liberation,’ you will learn how to use your sexual energy skillfully to experience deep and fulfilling intimacy.

Drawing from the Eros Sutras, this course views Eros as that aliveness within you. Through this view, you’ll see how Eros and the practice of OM gradually strip away layers of conditioning to reveal a vibrant self.

Take this opportunity to connect with the Erotic Self and access more of who you really are.

Ways to Engage

Question What You Learn

Try things out; test them. Don't take our word for it—research it for yourself to discover the validity. The wrestle itself is how you really get inside the material.

Keep a Journal

The things that stand out for you are a guidance of their own. We encourage you to take notes throughout your entire experience. Write down your questions, your observations, passages that catch your eye, realizations, and arguments. In working with Erotic material, your intuition will come alive and begin speaking to you. Taking notes and capturing what stands out for you is how you create a map for yourself of what your soul wants you to know, and of what you are remembering.

Try the Meditations & Exercises

These are designed to offer you a direct experience of the content, which might otherwise feel abstract. That being said, if a meditation or an exercise doesn't make sense to you, you can skip it until later, or try it and modify it. You can always approach the course at your own pace in your own way, and you do not have to be an expert or have any experience of meditation to get value from it.
