Communication is where our inner world meets the world outside us.

It is how desire enters relationship. How private perception becomes shared reality. How we move, influence, reveal, conceal, invite, resist, rupture, and repair.

And yet much of what we call communication is an attempt to get around real contact. We explain instead of reveal. We interpret instead of listen. We rehearse, defend, manage perception, search for the correct words, and try to produce the response that will make us feel safe.

Erotic communication begins with intimacy: what is actually happening in the body, in the mind, in the room, and in the living space between people. It asks us to speak without abandoning ourselves, to receive another person without disappearing into their reality, and to remain available to what communication might create—not only to the outcome we hoped to secure.

Over eight weeks, Aubrey Fuller will use the Communication Sutras as the spine of an exploration into the erotic nature of language, listening, attention, influence, and truth.

We will investigate questions including:

* What are we actually doing when we communicate?

* What makes communication erotic?

* How do sensation and attention alter what can be spoken?

* What is the difference between revealing and explaining?

* Can desire be expressed without becoming a demand?

* Can we receive influence without surrendering our own knowing?

* What happens when two people experience the same event differently?

* How do we remain in contact through disagreement, discomfort, and uncertainty?

This is not a formula for saying everything perfectly. It is an inquiry into becoming more available to what is true, more precise about what we are communicating, and more capable of participating in the intelligence that arises between people.

You do not need to be eloquent. You do not need to be good at communication. You need only a willingness to notice what is happening—and to enter the labyrinth.
