The Erotic is our undoing because that is precisely its aim. If we accept it honestly, our conditioning dissolves incrementally. It does not aim to bring us into the etheric, disembodied, pristine purity. Although Eros will happily enter those realms, it aims for the blood and bones of our human condition.
This is what we mean by incarnation. Once here, we recognize all things are already whole and perfect.
By turning our power up and allowing Eros to flow through us, we purify and dissolve the unconscious conditioning that has become impacted inside us and has blocked our dynamism and fluidity. It brings us to the involuntary—the activation of our nervous system where we laugh, cry, blush, salivate, and become sexually aroused. Eros is the “more” we are all looking for, but it works in mysterious ways.
The Erotic mind is able to escape the performative world and its endless rumination about the past, present, and future by being with it.
It’s why many seek the thrill of life-or-death experiences, the discipline of practice, or the obsession that can accompany sex. When we make it to the door of Eros, called in by yearning and desire, we discover it was Eros calling us back home all along.
