We cannot wake up alone because we cannot take ourselves out of control. We cannot press our own buttons and neither can we know who we are within the finite limitations of control. Knowing who we are is a process of exploration, of the discoveries we make on the edges of our singular identity. Here, our responses are beyond the prediction or limitation of whatever ideas we may have generated from within our familiar, isolated confines.
We cannot know who we are alone because alone is not real. Who we are at every point is not a static self, but a process of mutually influencing reciprocity. In fact, we tap into the truth of who we are when we are able to connect with other nervous systems, progressively extending our consciousness into further and further reaches. Through this process, we can access the highest-order information for the benefit of the greater community and the individuals involved.
If the truth of life lies in our interconnection, there is simply no way to maintain the illusion one can awaken without another. In fact, from this vantage point, the next master or world teacher will be the singular experience of a collective coming into connection.
The teacher is connection itself, what lies between us. The place of promise will be the abundance, safety, and love we experience as a part of this whole. It will be here that we learn the mechanics and pronouncements of connection, that the whole exists as a form to protect the uniqueness of each. That this is the unifying vision calling each individual to come further and further into their unique expression of the totality.
We are dedicated to honoring, supporting, and fostering our individual realization according to its distinct requirements, until together we find ourselves awake and home.
If we each endeavor toward this end, we discover this process of interdependence and reliance naturally draws forth the best in us. Excess is curbed, not by force of moral obligation, but because we have simultaneously taken responsibility for the collective and are provided the resources to realize who we are. We joyously contribute with care and attention, demonstrating the outcome of the investment made in ourselves.
It is a virtuous cycle where growth begets growth. It pushes us against things we would otherwise avoid and, for the care of the whole, demands we release personal entitlement and preference—which ultimately benefits us. This is not done out of altruism, but out of placing desire into a deeper, truer place.
When we relate, tending first to what lies between us, all three are then cared for. If we are not doing well as individuals, we are not doing well collectively either. If the relationship is suffering, neither person is doing well. And just the same, we cannot generate well-being for someone without benefiting the whole and we cannot sacrifice our own needs in the process either. All must grow and be tended to as needed.
